Pub Quiz Update....

We came about 7th but would have come third if we hadn't been so rigorous with our own marking and if we hadn't had an argument about Pi to 3 decimel places. In the end we had to have a Pi each.

Here's a flavour for any of you netloafers out there:

1. Anagram - "A Mutant Hunk"

2. Add one line to the following sum to make it correct - " 5 + 5 + 5 = 550 " (the answer isn't = with a slash through it by the way)

3. "Spoil Barrier to Resort"  -  (7 letters)

4. What's the biggest Island in the Mediterranean?

I'll not show off and do them all.

I mean this could be written in Martian. Is it 3.14? I don't even understand the others.

1. Schwarzenegger

2. Cocaine

3. Margate

4. Sheppey

Dave: The anagram was one word...didn't I mention that?

Rosie: The sum is very hard...we didn't get it right.

Geoff: I'll be back? To Sheerness on Charley I suppose.

The internet anagram database couldn't do that mutant hunk one.
I think no3 is an anagram of barrier - I'll pass it on to Dave.

Shows how brainy those real Lancashire folk must be...and trusting to let teams mark their own.

Scarlett: No Passouts till they're all done!

Christopher: More like "Shed!"

Kaz: Right, you're all to stay in class until they're done!

The Anagram is one word and will not be in the cheater's bases because it's a real name.

DAVE got number four right and GEOFF got number 3. Well done!

What about 1 and 2 then ??????!!!!!!

I will ask the children! (They won't know the answers either but at least I don't look so stupid....!)

Tutankhamun

545-5+5+5=550

Jon: They're probably too busy fixing your Windows XP and reprogramming your TV set.

Christopher: Well done with the Anagram!!!

But the sum just needs ONE LINE to make it correct.

Have another go!

Damn! I missed this.
I know the answer to the sum, but I heard it before, so won't spoil it for the thickies. I mean others.

Rog said...

Vicus: Thankyou for your almost saintly restraint. You are an example to the rest of the class. I mean thickies.

Christopher was nearly right, you add a diagonal line to the + to make it a 4.

Rog said...

Hurrah! Thanks Z ... well done! We can all get on with our lives now.

We know, Christopher, that you knew the answer but were too gracious to take credit for getting it right. So you gave a tactful hint.

Christopher said...

Not at all, Z, all your work, not mine. To think I spent half an hour yesterday afternoon fiddling about with brackets and square roots trying to solve it with algebra...

(*thinks: I wonder where she sat at school? Bet it was in the front row*)

Z said...

Always at the back, dear heart. I never volunteered an answer or an opinion and I never joined in anything if I could help it.

I knew that

Oh quiz finished already? Before I could show off and answer the questions??? Isn't Z CLEVER...{wafts off on an alchohol fuelled haze...}
