Only 3 posts in February? Is this the demise of Blogging?
Actually I've been a tad pre-occupied as at the beginning of the month I started getting pains in the chest and assumed my early training for the Lincoln 10k was being over strenuous. It began to get quite continuous so I knocked off all running and started to get a bit worried.
Finally on Monday of this week I was sent by my Doctor to the Norfolk & Norwich Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic for tests including a treadmill ECG and blood pressure. Turns out I've got the heart of a 50 year old (Thanks Mrs Rine) but nothing wrong with it at all. But I have got a Peptic Ulcer.
I'd kept all this information away from my dear old 86 year old Mum in case she got worried about me but did mention last week that I was going into Norwich for tests.
She looked really worried. I shouldn't have told her, I thought. She's really worried now. It's the Glaswegian way.
"I just hope you're not getting that thing. You know...."
Oh Gawd, I thought. What does she think I've got.
"Hypochondria", she said with what I thought was a somewhat withering look.
