Diss'd of Tunbridge Wells

Gordon (Mandelson) Brown has recently been making desperate overtures to "the middle classes" in an attempt to regain the central ground of politics.

Well, that's not where it's at Grandad!

I've been checking the new Daily Telegraph iPhone App (OK, OK, I was RESEARCHING A BOOK right?!) this morning and clicked on their "Twitter" section which gives Telegraph Readers the chance to discuss the important issues of the day.

This is what I found:

Strangely, when I went back to check on more of these grass-roots Daily Telegraph views and opinions a couple of hours later, this particular "thread" was no longer there. I was like well rooneyed no wot I'm sain?

The top tweet is the best one I've seen for ages. I don't think I'll be following her, though.

Dave: One of the few ladies not in your blog list?

Vicus: I've seen you quote it a few times. I suppose you've been researching a book as well.

Kaz: That's a thought. Is Jazzy_does_it a pseudonym for Kazzy_does_it?

Sarah: That would have been totally urban authentic if you hadn't added the Colchester note with "Oi Fink".

Geoff: Dat is lark well minging man.

I know nothing of this culture. Is the second one down Stephen Fry?

Steve Jobs is a hell of a genius. He's invented a device so that grown ups can swear like schoolchildren. Amazing.

Tee hee! Much LOLs, as I believe the youth say.

I like the use of "foreshadows" to mean "overshadows". Creative use of the language, innit.

Could somebody explain No.2, please? I feel this is the hinge on which the drama turns.

Richard: Good Point. St Stephen is in hiding though. I used to swear at my tape input on my Sinclair ZX81 a lot.

Billy: I was researching a book. Paul Whitehouse will back me up...

Macy: Totygaffe?!!! I missed a title opportunity.

Annie: I haven't seen "Tee Hee" in textoise but it is much more charming than the Lols. We should promote it!

Z: I hope he doesn't say things about U tryna f*ck wit my sis. He'll have hgone down in my estimation.

Ad: It is, it is!!!

Christopher: I can help you. The SLA6b is a 1.86 GHz 1066 MHz 7 8 MB 1.86 GHz Low voltage processor. The 24s means "24/7" and three processors running all the time would stop the "roasting" or ratio-delay-feedback-component. I feel guilty for taking the piss now.

Ziggi: It's the white noise of the internet. If Alan Turing was still about he'd be able to build a big machine to decode it.

Rog, pull yourself together. You've got two 1.86GHz in your spec. It would never work, let alone 24/7. Well might you feel guilty, and you a Kentish Man.

Slightly off-topic, but I found out where all the grit went during the recent snow - Tunbridge Wells High Street! Now that the snow's gone the pavement resembles a beach.
