Waiting for the Sun

A few weeks ago, when we were still enjoying the coldest winter since leggings began, I took this picture of the Station waiting "room" as we walked by one evening.

It looked like it was being inhabited by some kind of extra-terrestrial presence, or possibly Simon Cowell was passing through on his way to the bank.

The station? You have trains on your part of Norfolk?

ps Who is Simon Cowell?

Dave: Most of the Rail Routes look like this one from a recent post. Simon Cowell is my pet name for the thing on my chimney which spots a lot of hot air and is attractive to birds.

Great photo! Ever think of quitting the day job?

Excellent photo!

I love old train stations where there aren't any staff and you might get murdered at any moment. They're so atmospheric!

We've had the golden bowl, the golden fleece and the golden egg. It's about time we had a golden waiting room.

Z: Go on go on go on go on!

Nutty: Thanks! Fortunately my Internet R&B Day Job lets me be creative in the studio.

Geoff: The reason they are particularly atmospheric is because the toilets have been locked.

Timorous: If it was properly kitted out it could have facilities for Golden Showers.

I'm now reminiscing about the many hours I used to spend on the aluminium luggage tag machine with its big clock dial on Gravesend Station making rude labels for an old Penny. She became bored with it in the end.

Is Roses being sarcastic at my expense? It all goes over my head.

Good photo. But can't be Simon Cowell. No audience to admire him.

Rog said...

Roses: Very Good! You've left me with a mental picture I'd rather not have though.

Kaz: It was merely that our Simon appears to make more money than most banks.

Macy: I used to ride the trams down Dumbarton Road in Glasgow.

Dave: You've exposed a working knowledge of Unit 4 plus 2 now so you can't plead ignorance.

Madame DF: ITV think that Simon Cowell's bottom is a source of great light.

Super photo. Is this the entrance to Lat/Long:54, -2 ?

Rog said...

Hi Rosie, It's a long way south of Lauder in East Angular Country!

54, -2 seems to be a terribly secret sort of area. Try and google it.
