(A.) Having to creep round some self-important arse with a holiday list (not you, Al!) whose sole satisfaction in life is making it sound almost impossible for you to go away on the particular week you want to and making you feel guilty for even asking.
B. Spending your entire time away worried about the character assassination, shit stirring and general mischief making going on in your absence.
C. Losing the last 3 days of the holiday to complete paranoia about (B)
Perhaps it's just me. Here's a picture of Oz looking totally relaxed.

The downside is no holiday pay, of course.
And, hopefully, no pointless 'meetings'.
Z: a small price to pay for self- respect!
Martin: very good point. You never get that time back.
Is Oz sitting on your mode of transport?
Christopher: Are you implying I'm some kind of Wizard?
I assume that (B) is going on on my blog while I'm away.
The best thing about being unemployed/retired is that you can spend the rest of your life gloating, whilst not working.(Unless you choose to.)
To be honest, he looks like he's ready to bite anyone who indulges in B...
The worst part about being self employed (as I have been since 1977) is the sheer number of hours you put in. But as these are spent doing thinkgs you like doing perhaps it's one of the best parts too.
P.s. No, the worst part is doing the books - which I'm told I must do later today, curses curses!!!
You mean Mrs R and the hounds don't snigger behind your back?
Dave: you are not wrong!
Tim: I have enough trouble with gloating pensioners at the Post Office!
Nota: his position as head of security is safe
M&A: fortunately Mrs Rine does all accounts and all cooking , but hopefully not at the same time!
Sarah: you don't know just how right you are!
amen, brother! xoxo
The best thing about self employment is not having to put up with the arses and shit stirrers the other 46 weeks of the year!
Almost makes up for the VAT returns :)
