Christmas 'n Eve

Daughter Holly went into Hospital on Christmas Eve and last night the lovely Niamh (pronounced "Neeve") arrived weighing in at a healthy 71b 12 oz. Congratulations Holly & Mikey and I look forward to meeting the little star in person next week.

Now I have 7 Grandchildren and suddenly feel like a proper Grandad. I probably need to take up pipe smoking and obtain a walking stick and a shed. I should be saying things like "I knew this internet thing when it was all fields you know" and "get off those cabbages you little whippersnapper!".

Well done, Rog. Just delighted for you. Congratulations all round. As far as I know Niamh means hallowed or saintly, but I hope canonisation doesn't mean she came into the world with too much of a bang. Champagne in your new shed?

Congratulations. She is beautiful.

You mean you don't have a walking stick and a shed? I do not believe it!

Lovely news, and congratulations to all. I know what you mean, with latest news of another grandchild on the way I feel quite matriarchal. By the time I've got seven of them, maybe my children will stop treating me like the village idiot, but I'm not holding my breath.

Lovely -- and two-legged, I hope? ;)

Skin taken off the old Granpa, as we can see. (But "Granpa" has changed quite a bit, judging by the photo. Sigh. That's what I get for not keeping up with my blogfriends -- I turn away for a moment and they get younger. Drats.)

Anyway, wishing you, Rog, and yours -- bi- and quadrupeds -- a happy and healthy new year.

Congratulations from me too, Rog.

You might wish to get hold of a rocking chair and a cardigan, and a four-wheeled shopping trolley also, all of which would enhance your image.
