Chicken Tickle Masala

Yesterday we went to a party! Lily had been invited too so insisted on having a decent brush to look her best. I know it's always a bit tedious reading about other people's parties but as you were all invited you missed a great time and have no excuse.

It was, of course, held by the lovely Z, who may appear as the last letter of the alphabet but is assured in her position as the first lady of Blogging. Here she is with her Grandfather and Mrs Rine with a beam.

There was a great bunch of bloggers there, although some had not been able to attend. "Girl with a One track Mind" was apparently playing with her train set layout and JonnyB was at a book signing at "The Works". Scarlet Blue was in bed with a swelling and Macy had a few logistical issues. Christopher (old "Three Puds") was at least able to join in the fun on a live video link from his Medieval Castle in the Dordogne once his butler had mastered the technology. Many of my photos were strangely blurred but here's a nice one of prolific blogger Sir Bruin bearing up post-pudding whilst his winsome wife Liz smiles demurely like Rebecca Brooks at the Leveson enquiry.

There were Witches, Pixies, Armouries, Leggies, Larges and Smalls in abundance, and all the ladies were swooning (and some of the men, to be candid) at the gorgeous Dave who had appeared to wow the assemblage with his stunning good looks and rippling muscles. "Smoke me a Kipper", he said as he dashed off early to set up a 100 mile bike ride the following day with Roses growing on him.  What a guy!

But the real star highlight of the proceedings came just after the fabulous five course lunch when the Sage appeared with a chick in his hands. He deftly popped her on the table as we sipped our coffees and Mig looked on in astonishment:

He proceeded to hyptonise this little bird with gentle hand movements like a cross between the Horse Whisperer and Dr Doolittle. He has such a way with the chicks.

A most excellent review of a most excellent event.

I'm now off to look up winsome in the dictionary.

So glad you explained 'chick tickling', Rog. It's a Google search I would instinctively avoid.

Thank you, Rog. I could almost believe I was there. Well, I was, really, wasn't I?

I think it was one of those parties, like the sixties, if you remembered you were there...you obviously weren't.

We did enjoy ourselves greatly. Z says she's already planning next year's event.

You now know the secret of the Sage's success with the laydeez. Lovely to see you and thanks for taking pictures - the only photo I took was of the puddings, with the purpose of making Chris regret more than ever that he cancelled his guest appearance.

The chickens say thank you for their layer pellets and they all intend to lay special eggs in appreciation.

I was utterly hyptonised by the whole event.

Who's that weird woman behind the chicken?
Oh. Was I there?

That sounds a lot of funny...by comparison we had mistakenly bought chicken tikka masala kebabs for the bbq...

Sounds like fun and what a cute chicky :) You know you don't even need to tickle them - just upside does the trick - they can't really move ;)

Liz: You insome. you lose some...

Martin: I felt obliged to check that and you are quite right....

Chris: You were the life and soul on that phone!

Roses: I'm sorry I mixed Dave and Lawrence up. They're both charming.

Z: I hope the eggs taste eggstra special.

Tim: I assumed that was the Chablis?

Mig: It's a much better pic than the one on your blog - you are welcome to swap it!

Nota: I expect you were grilled by the Cat's Mother.

Pat: You could organize a SW event!

Mike & Ann: That's the annual socializing out the way for us!

Scarlet: Next year. When we get back from the forest and inspect Lily we box all the ticks.

Gab: Is that why all the Australian Chicks are naturally fun and cute?!!
