Stalker Alert

There's something oddly beguiling about Julia "Botox" Bradbury to gentlemen over a certain age. I'm not sure if it is the vaguely tom-boyish appearance or her ready wit and charm, but she has already amassed 3,500 followers and Twitter.

I'm not really a fan of Twitter but dip my toe in the water occasionally. It does offer one the illusion of being able to contact the great and good directly, witness the following exchange this morning:

Julia Bradbury:
"I woke up this morning to a tap!tap!tap! on my bedroom window. My room is located on the 3rd floor!"

Me:
"Was it John Craven trying to escape from your bedroom?"

Who she?

I don't think I've reached that certain age yet.

Mind you, I wish I were fit enough to walk the Lake District peaks.

Was it her who inspired you do do the Coast-to-Coast?

Don't get it !

did she reply??? and she say 'no, it was Sam Fox' ? another vaguely 'tomboyish' lady

I got it [I think!]... I sometimes watch Countryfile.

Your dream girl, another Julie, is even thinner than Julia, Dave. Those of us who like to eat have little hope of attracting the interest of men of a certain age, it seems.

Did Julia reply, Rog, or maintain a dignified silence?

I have to admit that I'm a fan of Julia Bradbury, and also that I'm of a certain age ... probably well past my sell-buy date as far as she's concerned.

You can keep her. The one for me is Renee Zellweger (Bridget Jones), the girl next door!

Vicus: You've spent too many hours on Facebook.

Dave: The walking programmes do make you want to get up those Fells. Wainwright was doing it in his 70's.

Sarah: No she didn't.

Scarlet: Countryfile is the best programme on TV at the moment. Mind you the competition isn't great.

Z: Julia was so consumed with laughing she wasn't able to respond. Dave's weather girl is so thin she has to run around in the shower.

Justin: Hello and welcome! There's always hope as far as Julia is concerned - look what she's been up to with old John Craven!

Keith: I had no idea you lived in Santa Monica! I'm surprised.

Isn't it about time John Craven did a version of HIGNFY with panelists Basil Brush, Zippy and Sweep?

I prefer Julia's uncle Ray.

Was that a tweet or a twat?

So what has JB been up to with JC, allegedly? I don't get to read much celeb gossip, Rog.

Maybe I'm not of that age yet, don't know who she is and am consequently unbeguiled. She's not on the wireless, is she?

Rog said...

Geoff: Boom Boom! I though the Bradburies were taken over by Kraft.

Kaz: That's not clever and it's not funny. See me after class.

Justin: I made it all up! That's what the tabloids do after all.

Richard: She did "Wainwright Walks" and now does intrepid stunts and things on "Countryfile". You're probably listening to "Sing Something Simple" on Radio Two with the Cliff Adams Singers.

I have no idea who she is, so I'm just going to draw quietly in the corner while you tell Kaz off and hope you don't notice me.

Better watch Mrs R doesn't catch you Twitting or Twatting your obscure objects of desire...

Oh, so that's what occupies the Brits' time. I see...
