The End of the World as we know it

Blog posts have been a bit flimsy for the last month as we've been preoccupied with my Mother who has been seriously ill under what was described as palliative care in hospital. She died last Thursday and her funeral service is today.

It's the end of the World for any number of reasons. After 88 years, from Clydebank to Kent, we've all lost one of our true characters. My brother and I have lost someone to tell us off and "worry" about us. She was a good egg.

We are sending her off right at this moment to this:

A Happy Christmas to you and yours - I'm back to normal service in January.

My condolences, Rog.

Everyone should be able to say that their Mum was a good egg. Love your choice for a musical send-off.

What a fantastic song to send her off! Something to make you feel a little better. Condolences.

Sorry to hear it Rog. There isn't a 'good' age at which to lose a mother - especially one who was a 'good egg'.

Many condolences. But you're a good boy to give her such a send-off.

Thanks all for your lovely thoughts.
It was a great service with all 7 grandchildren in attendance and paying tributes. The piper marching in with a lament was the bit that got to me.
She had a good innings and a great send off!
